Getting Rid of Reflux Made Easy!
Guess what! My client went from regular use of PPIs (Proton Pump Inhibitors) to total elimination by working with me in just 3 months.
Here are examples of what unaddressed reflux can lead to over time:
Esophageal Damage: Chronic reflux can damage the esophagus, causing narrowing and scarring, which can make swallowing difficult. As a speech pathologist, we often see this progression when it becomes a pathology, requiring modifications to the diet for easier-to-swallow foods.
Barrett's Esophagus: This condition, caused by untreated reflux, increases the risk of developing esophageal cancer. Early detection is key.
Laryngopharyngeal Reflux (LPR): Reflux can reach the throat, leading to respiratory issues such as coughing, wheezing, and even aspiration pneumonia.
Dental Erosion: Reflux can cause tooth sensitivity, decay, and gum disease due to the constant exposure of teeth to stomach acid.
Digestive Discomfort: Reflux can cause chest pain, nausea, and difficulty digesting protein and other nutrients. Left untreated, this can disrupt the gut-brain axis, which may contribute to cognitive decline, dementia, and Alzheimer's. Chronic gut inflammation, known as "leaky gut," can allow toxins to enter the bloodstream, causing inflammation throughout the body and brain.
Sleep Disturbances: Reflux often worsens at night, disrupting sleep, which in turn affects energy levels, immunity, and overall well-being.
The good news is that reflux can be managed and even reversed through lifestyle changes, dietary adjustments, and potentially medication. By addressing it early, you can avoid these serious complications and improve your overall health.

You will get the full details in my FREE CLASS and here is a sneak peak. Whether you suffer from reflux or another digestive, nervous system, or inflammatory condition, this class has you covered.
One of our special allies was Marshmallow Root!
This is definitely NOT the sweet candy you see in the store but instead a plant with the Latin name Althea Officinalis.
Marshmallow root characteristics:
Demulcent meaning it soothes and coats which is especially nice on an inflamed esophagus as well as soothing for the intestines.
Prebiotic which means it feeds probiotic bacteria in the gut (this could be positive or negative which I further review in the class recording).
Gut healing, anti-inflammatory for the gut, kidneys, and throat, and immune enhancing.
My client made a cold infusion because Marshmallow/Althea extracts better in room temperature water. She soaked, cut, and sifted root in cold water and drank it daily. She felt immediate relief. Within 2 weeks she noticed a difference in her reflux symptoms and was on her way to ditching the PPI'S.
The following article details the risks of long-term PPI use which are vast and quite scary: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6463334/
